- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Refuses to disclose his position on legislation that affects his constituents prior to voting. He is also very dismissive of constituents that don't share his views, repeatedly declining to hold in-person meetings with people in the 6th who aren't corporations or organizations he supports. - ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Bob Goodlatte refuses to meet with any of his constituents if they don't a) agree with him and/or b) make donations. As a result he is out of touch with the views of many, perhaps the majority, of the constituents he claims to represent. Instead of pursuing ways to improve the ACA, as more than half the nation would like, he is hell-bent on repealing it and depriving millions of people of health care. He shows a blatant disregard for the well being of the elderly, children with disabilities, and others who depend on Medicaid. Instead of speeding (65 in a 25 mph zone in Nelson County and then claiming he had a faulty speedometer, Mr. Goodlatte should get in touch with all of his constituents and start representing all of us. Or he should do what he promised to do when he advocated for term limits: admit he has outlived his usefulness as a Representative and find a new job. If he is lucky, it will pay minimum wage and provide health insurance.By Ellen Werther, December 18, 2016
